Our new manufacturing facility is up and running, giving the Axis Fabrication and Machine team the space and equipment to better support our customers.

The new building was designed from the ground up with manufacturing efficiency as the focus. Our customers are benefiting from greater capacity and capability, increased throughput, and a team well-equipped to produce high-quality parts.

Here’s an inside look at our new space and how it’s helping us better support the production of your fabricated and machined components.

A Facility Designed Around Modern Manufacturing

manufacturing facility

Every aspect of our new fabrication and machine shop was carefully planned to improve day-to-day operations.

We evaluated how each element could work together to make our vision for the new shop a reality and upgraded several aspects, including:

  • Lighting
  • Security
  • Shop layout
  • Material staging
  • Employee training and meeting spaces

Each decision was made with both our team members and customers in mind.

Our new security camera system features AI that sends an alert if someone has fallen, helping improve employee safety.

The work we put into securing the new building also supports our efforts toward CMMC certification, helping position us for opportunities that require additional security measures.

More Capacity and Capability

The additional space has allowed us to expand our manufacturing capabilities and invest in equipment to improve throughput.

Our new tower system is set up to feed both of our lasers. It features an automated racking system that holds 30 different types of material and brings the required material directly to the laser.

For customers, improvements like this mean greater production capacity and the ability to handle larger production runs as volume needs grow.

As we continue adding more equipment to the shop floor, the location of each machine also plays an important role in creating an efficient production environment.

Increased Efficiency on the Shop Floor

While designing our new facility, we kept fabrication and machining workflows at the forefront. Strategic placement of our equipment has created a more logical flow through production, increasing efficiency across each department.

Before finalizing the shop layout, we created a model for every single machine to determine the most practical solution for operations.

With the additional space, we were also able to eliminate our separate storage facility and now have all materials in one location. Having our full material stock readily available and improving our staging process help keep production moving smoothly.

Better Collaboration and Culture

We have also expanded meeting and training spaces to provide more opportunities for skills development and collaboration.

Our new break room is more than 1,500 square feet, giving the entire team a place to gather at once. Additionally, multiple conference rooms and individual offices for leadership have created better environments for process planning.

All of these investments support the work that happens behind the scenes of part-making.

Built to Support What’s Next

Growing alongside our customers, their businesses, and their evolving production needs is something we take great pride in.

That’s why we are so excited to be in our new space, where every detail has led to increased capacity and capability, more efficient production, and better collaboration to ensure we serve customers the best we can.
